Tala Entertainment Services is a full service agency based in New York City with over 15 years of experience working with high profile clients in the entertainment industry in Paris and in New York, and with international organizations such as the United Nations.
The company works tirelessly to support individuals and organizations through the following services: project management, event & booking , public relations & promotions, and media partnerships.
Drawing on a well-developed international network, strong knowledge of world issues and expert language skills allows Tala Entertainment Services to provide support to international organizations and industry professionals pursuing a variety of international opportunities.
Tala Entertainment Services aims to bridge cultural gaps within the US and around the world, through intercultural projects , the cross promotion of artists, media and events, in addition to celebrity mobilization to raise awareness for global charitable causes
BIO Karima Zerrou
Tala Entertainment Services was created by Ms. Karima Zerrou.
Born and raised in Paris, she was inspired by her early childhood experiences, participating in her native Berber Algerian theater and music . As early as 18, she offered her consulting early on by taking the licensing of new products in Europe for a dance label including the hit "Can't Stop the Boogie", with former Polygram in Paris (now Universal). She also managed French artist Mr R and launched his classic album " Au commencement". in Parallel, she assisted US labels like Rawkus,Profile to get French licensing deals. She also toured as a free lance assistant for a UK production 101 for tours like: Fugees, Notorious BIG, Wu Tang, Cypress Hill, Ice T, Warren G to name a few , and organizing showcases for labels such as Sony, Virgin etc...
These experiences led her to become project manager junior for a hip hop label at Sony Music France division, where started the first , now famous compilation Series "Planet Rap" with French national radio Skyrock. She also created Hip hop Planete and the launch of the famous world music group Daara J.
in 1999, she moved to NY and got an opportunity at the United Nations. After 3 years, she became a consultant for the United Nations working humanitarian projects events: concerts, events, gala dinners and more. One of her biggest projects was the UN Youth Leadership Program and its numerous Summits (including the Youth United againt Malaria concert at the GA , the Africa2015 campaign, using music, sport and Culture to achieve the Millennium Development Goals. She also managed the UN Spokespersons/Celebrities' involvement of Ronaldinho, Serena Williams, Youssou N'Dour, Angelique Kidjo, Salif Keita to name a few..
With an impressive body of work and her consulting skills, she decided to create her own company Tala Entertainment Services which has only been a continuity of her consulting work and her large network. For the past few years, she has brought her knowledge, skills and global experience in many areas of intercultural projects, communications, media and events. Most recently, she took up a 3 year consultancy at the UN Alliance of Civilizations , to manage the now famous UN Fellowship Program. She successfully managed 12 classes of young leaders from the Middle East, North Africa, Europe and North America in the middle of the Arab Spring and critical tensions in the world.. The Fellowship Program allows young professionals and emerging leaders from these societies to familiarize themselves with the cultural diversity and the daily reality of other countries, through a powerful approach of intercultural dialogue and collaboration. Thanks to her hard work, in spite of limited resources, a strong network of hundreds of participants has emerged and the UN Fellowship became a reference futh networkoor many youth networks.
